America is in trouble, folks…
Not because of who is in office, not because we’re bad people, but because there are too many folks ou their who are either taking full advantage of the rights we are guaranteed and not exercising any of the associated responsibilities, or because they are happy just to sit back with the idea that somebody else will do something, so they refuse to get involved…
Whether you like it or not, Barack Obama is the President. I don’t know if i like him or not, but he does seem determined to put his money where his mouth is. He is, for good or ill, willing to give the “system” a good sharp kick, and try to get the Country headed is some direction…
Maybe it will work, maybe it won’t… Maybe he can pull it off, or maybe he will prompt the rise of a new conservative leader to counter him… Who knows…
What I do know is that there will be no change if folks sit back and not do a damned thing. If We, the People, don’t show any interest in our own affairs, the Government will be prompted to step in and take care of us, and you can kiss certain Rights and Freedoms goodbye, in the name of the public good..
There is corruption in Washington, but how can the dirty politicians and powerbrokers be held accountable if nobody is willing to pull their heads out of the sand and say something? They think that they can hide behind their walls and their office buildings and get away with the fleecing of this Nation. They think that this status quo is acceptable. They don’t think we notice.
The entertainment industry is putting out the message that greed overrides social responsibility. Prove ‘em wrong.
The Hollywood elite use their fame to forward their uneducated “pie in the sky” messages, counter them with educated argument…
Tell major corporations that they need to keep the jobs in this country, and help them out by buying their products.
Tell the able-bodied folks who sit on their duffs crying about the lack of jobs that there is nothing wrong with picking crops. Take back the jobs that our own forefathers worked during the depression, and take them back from the illegals who are doing them now. Let’s find a way to make it affordable to have just one parent working, so that there’s someone raising the kids.
Get involved in your own community, start making a difference…
Their are folks in the high strata of government and society who think that they are invincible, and that they can do whatever they want without accountability or they think that we aren’t interested in the direction that this country is headed…
Let’s prove them wrong.
Get involved, start a grassroots movement, or join up with one that already exists, and let the Government know that it has your interests, and that it will be held accountable…
I don’t care if you’re a conservative, a liberal, a Republican, a Democrat – it’s time to band together and get the behemoth’s attention – we’ll argue about what color to paint it later…
If you’re a “kid”, learn about how your government works… Learn how the financial system is supposed to work, learn how everything is supposed to tie together. If you’re older, use the lessons you have learned, drag out that soap box, and make yourself heard!
Do something, or someday you might find that Somebody has, indeed, done it for you, and you aren’t going to like it.
You can either identify the wave, paddle hard, and ride it with some degree of control, or you can wait, let it crash over you and let it stuff you in the barrel… Your choice.
